Bridgerton Season 2 already stirs up wild anticipation among fans, releasing Mid-March

Being one of Netflix’s biggest shows ever, Bridgerton has been watched and loved in more than 80 million households worldwide in its first month! While season 1 gave us the story of Daphne and the Duke, season 2 is set to follow the eldest Bridgerton- the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, and his courtship of young Kate Sharma in an ‘enemies to lovers trope’, as characterized by fans.

The trailer has set off a lasting impression and reaction from fans where Kate displays her strong female character who is not easily swayed by men; quote, "I find your opinion of yourself entirely too high. Your character is as deficient as your horsemanship." A combination of a Jane Austen protagonist and something more steamy and passionate is just the way to put it. Fans are curious to see the developments of the courtship of Kate, who seems to be the talk of the ton. And Anthony’s character development and depth will also be explored through his getting over the ex-mistress, and distress from the past that involves the death of his father, the Late Viscount.

Although fans are hyped to follow the love life of the next Bridgerton sibling, some viewers were disappointed to find out that the Duke, played by the handsome Rege Jean Page will not be making an appearance in the future. While the others believed that the chemistry between the new couple is better than ever before.

That’s not all that’s exciting about it! The trailer followed through with the infamous voiceover of Julie Andrews as Lady Whistledown, claiming that she has been improving her writing and sharpening her knives to capture the gossip and subtleties of the 19th Century ton in her high society papers, and we get to see Penelope Featherington actually in action. Penelope Featherington -played by Nicola Coughlan- who made a twist at the end of the last season is said to be going to make things interesting this coming season.

Along with Penelope, her companion Eloise is also going to see some character development, when a picture of a more mature, beautiful-looking Eloise went viral after Netflix released some shots. Eloise was also known to be a feministic figure and fans cannot wait to see her coming out in society as if all are part of it in the 19th Century now. According to the Julia Quinn novels off which the series is based on, each sibling gets their spotlight. And Netflix has hinted that the idea of eight seasons is not completely impossible.

What’s more exciting for Indian fans is that a cover of the song played in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum would be played in the series as many other classical covers of popular pop songs have been played previously, and we can’t wait to see how it all spins off!
